There was a time in my life when I sincerely loved to try new delicacies as a cook. And on this very day, I had the meal ‘couscous’ on the menu for the day. I had zero knowledge of how it was to be made but since it was practical, I took the bold step to try the meal. I picked up the packaged grain and checked the wrapper with the hope of looking into the preparation process. Behold, the guide was carved with the pack and with each instruction written accordingly. I sighed in relief, followed each instruction, and made the food using the guide. It was time for a check and in looks, the meal was not good to behold. Even in taste, it was nowhere near delicious.
‘I wasn’t a terrible cook but then, should we say it is what it is? ‘ Just while I was pondering on that, a few people came around, and one out of all had a taste, and told me of how much he loved it. I thought it was flattery until he demanded the whole dish. And I gave it all to him.
What he did to the food, I never knew but later in the night, I got a text of ‘thank you’.
During the day, I waited for everyone to leave and as soon as everyone left, I sat alone to ponder on the whole cooking process. I wasn’t able to arrange my thoughts in full but all I could do was to smile and say, ‘There’s always a next time’
And of course, there’s always a next time to try the meal and any meal but the meal in itself isn’t the center of my story as It is just the proof of my drive.
THE DRIVE- THE GUIDE.
There was no doubt that I had a passion and that was enough to be called a drive. But just after I took a closer look into the procedure, I realized that there was a deeper drive aside from my passion, it was an important tool, it aided the food practice, it is the manual packaged with the grain and it is what I call THE GUIDE. Without it, I could have buried my passion for trying, and I could have missed out on the mistakes I noticed. There were flaws despite using the guide but the implication would be discussed in the next part of this story.
For this part, it is the importance of the guide.
Humanity is never a mistake. Every individual has an important role in the society but all that is needed to live right has been written in the manual. It has the basic steps needed to walk on the right path. It helps to nurture and unveil the fullness of mankind. It is a guide that aids the functioning of all. It is a book, carved to be a manual, inscribed to be a guide, and should be treasured forever as a choicest possession. This guide is truly important but has its complementary task in the next story.
